After 2 years Felix is still staying in the hideout hole underneath the barn of Gabriek’s house. Then one night he hears voices in the barn above him. When they start fading away and eventually disappear Gabriek comes to tell Felix that they have to leave, now. They go into the forest. When they get a fair way in. Gabriek tells Felix to stay where he is and runs off. Felix sits there watching something he never thought he would, Gabriek killing people. After, he finds out they are partisans, people who kill Nazi’s. After Gabriek had finished what he had to do, they started walking back to the farm. But half way there, they saw flames in the distance and started running. When they reached the house they whole thing was on flames, including the barn. They both rushed to collect as much as they could, including Dom, their trusty horse. While Gabriek is doing so, he’s wounded and the only people Felix can think of, that can help him are the partisans. When he got there the only way they would let him stay was if he became a partisan. To do that he had to go into town and steal something. He came back with a bike that had 2 bazookas. When he got back he asked where Gabriek was. He was with the surgeon in emergency surgery. The next day he woke up to find that he was taken to the main camp, until he gets better, he tried to convince them to let him go with Gabriek, but he can’t, they tell him he has to stay there, the surgeon needs an assistant. He helped doctor Zajak for weeks, but the whole time he was thinking about Gabriek. After the final preparation for his escape, he was ready. But as he was leaving, he was caught; luckily Yuli saved me with an excuse. One day Yuli was injured and Felix ran to Doctor Zajak, luckily they could save her, during her recovery he found out what happened to Gabriek; he had fully recovered and was heading north to help another partisan group, and would be back as soon as he could. Yuli and Felix go into town, on a mission to get food. On the mission Felix found some kids, first some Jewish kids, then some Nazi kids. But while Felix is looking for food and talking to the kids, Yuli finds some disturbing news; the Nazis are planning to attack our camp. They get halfway and Yuli tells me to wait there with Dom. Before Felix could run after her she was gone. After ages of waiting, Felix walks to the camp, but after he sees what’s there he wishes he didn’t. So Felix walks back to the town and gets the kids, food and anything he could find that would come in handy. Then they go to a swamp and live there. They plan to get back at the Nazis, by planning a train wreck. On the night of their planned sabotage they see the bridge getting blown up, but by Nazis!!! Then Felix remembers what Gabriek told him once, only after someone has lost a war, would they blow up and destroy their own things. Do you know what that means? The Nazis have lost, the war was over!!! They were so excited on the way back, but when they get back, they see someone standing there, Yuli. After, Yuli tells Felix some news that could change his life, since the war was over, some of the camps, have survived. Including the one his parents were in. Felix gets a ride with some Russians. When he arrives he looks through every single shed, each one full of more sick people than the last, after going through many sheds, he sees Mr Rosenfeld, a friend from his childhood. He tells Felix something he was dreading, his father had died, but he took Felix to the shed his mum was in. Felix looks in the direction of his finger, all he can see is an old women lying on the bed, very old, grey and sick, no what he sees is his mum. After weeks of helping out trying to make people better, something horrible happens, Felix’s mum was no longer going to be around, she had gone to heaven. One day someone puts his or her hand on Felix’s shoulder, he turns around to see an old friend, Gabriek. They go back to the camp where the partisans used to be, got the things they left in a safe place, and went off, to spend the rest of their lifes making a difference in the world…
