Biography
Morris Gleitzman, born in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, England, on January 9th 1953 (age 60) is a famous Australian author (although born in England). He grew up in England but immigrated to Australia in 1969. He has written many books from books for younger readers (two weeks with the queen) to books for older readers (adults only). In his life (as of may 24th 2011) he has written 32 successfully published books. He published three collections of his newspaper columns in newspapers, The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald. He previously wrote for the Norman Gunston show, a popular show in the 1970’s. From all his writing he has won many awards including; 1993 Bilby Award (Blabber Mouth), 1993 CROW Award (Blabber Mouth), 1994 CROW Award (Sticky Beak), 1997 COOL Award (Belly Flop), 1998 Bilby Award (Bumface), 1998 COOL Award (Bumface), 1998 KOALA Award (Bumface), 1998 YABBA Award (Bumface), 1998 YABBA Award: Older Readers (Toad Rage), 2008 ANTO Cole Award (Toad Rage). To this day he keeps his blog up to date with information about him and his writing. He has been writing for many years but he’s not ready to stop writing and he, along with all of us, hope that there will be much more to come.
